April, who the hell is April?

Typically, as history would have it, April kind of sucks.  Let's just say, some really bad stuff has happened in April.  We have a new outlook, a new positivity and we aren't fooling ourselves.  So, we did some shit to make April a whole lot more fun!

The 10 Lap Challenge Just Got REALLY TOUGH!!

We've had the same track for the 10 Lap Challenge at Badger Motors and to be honest, changing the track would be a huge pain in the ass.  The store would have to move, the landing point, vendors and signage would all have to move and we want to have fun too!  

Instead of major construction, we pulled a dick move.  We put barriers along the track.  This means, you have to use more skill to navigate the track and to set a great time. The barriers have been out for awhile but were phantom, they aren't now.  No April Fools here!

Sim Rules

Like any place you visit in SL, there are rules to what you can do and cannot do.  Before we opened the Badger Motors sim, we created and posted rules at the landing point.  The rules haven't changed since and for the most part, we're very flexible when mistakes happen.  When you get to the sim, take a moment to read the rules and if you have questions, just ask.

One rule we've had since we opened the sim is anyone who find themselves at the ground level of the sim is probably going to get booted and banned for up to 2 hours.  The security system does this.  Sometimes, people click the sim to TP and that doesn't work very well.  Other times, racers on the track will be launched into the ground which doesn't work well either.  

If this happens to you, let us know and if we are available, we will get you back in the door.  We do recognize our regulars and we appreciate them and every visitor we have.  If you get tossed on accident, it isn't personal.  Just let us know if this happens to you.

Road Captains, we know you are professionals but you might want to warn your crew that if they click the sim, someone may be a little unhappy which we do not want.  We'll be updating the Ride Out notecard very soon with this same information.

The Curio Cruiser features passenger seating, multiple paints PLUS a blank painted version you can tint yourself or use the Color System to create your own cool look.  If you love the solo style, you can click the menu to remove the rear seat.  Instructions are included in the bike package.

This Just In!!!

We just released several new bikes!  Scroll down to see our newest releases and come give them a test ride.  

Sadly, some of our older models have been phased out and while they may not be seen again, we believe in keeping things fresh.  Be sure to check out our race vendor for some cool race rods. In the right hands, not mine, you could also set some killer laps.  They are fun and more are going to be released in that vendor too.

Use Advanced Lighting

All of our vehicles are best seen with Advanced Lighting enabled through your Preferences - Graphics settings.  Sure, you can set the shine yourself but you're missing out on how these textures look.  Your mind will be blown and honestly, my frame rates are not impacted very much with this feature enabled.  Give it a chance, you will not be disappointed.  

We have more news!!

Our top of track is finished and we're in the SL Destination Guide.  It is amazing what you can accomplish with generous contributions of fancy plastic objects to people with really low expectations.  We have not bribed anyone, just so you know.  That's the story we're sticking with!

There is so much to see and do at our top of track.  Yes, you want to come ride to the top, demo one of our vehicles, rez your own (we don't care) and bring some friends.  When you get to Badgerford Falls, hang out for awhile and enjoy the sights.  There is a little town, Glamping area, lake, waterfall, mountains and yeah, we have a seedy little trailer park that might have some criminal activity going down.  

Shopping Events for March

For the February/March Men Only Monthly, the Saludo al Sol.  If I said "Breakout" would you believe me?  Okay, c'mon, I can't say Breakout inworld.  The pixel police will have a coniption fit and nobody needs to see that.  It is just a sweet looking and riding bike.  Hell, I'd buy it.  Look for a release date on the 20th of February.  Once the vendor is dropped at the event, I'll send out an announcement.  You may be able to peek in and buy it for yourself.

Ride Out Requests

Come ride the Badger Motors sim.  We start at 1000m and go up to 3300m with several levels of fun, two timed tracks and seasonal decoration at our track top.  Yes, we invite ride out requests.  Get your form from the landing and send it to Mikal Brinner and Lizzy Nightfire.  We do have real lives and aren't always online but if you send your request to both of us, you'll be sure to have your request set up.  You don't really need a ride out request but having one reserves the track for your group or MC though we may have customers visiting during your ride.  Share the road, right?

The sim is rebooted regularly so you should have a great ride.

10 Lap Challenge is Back!  See the rules, join our group and race!  Win a vehicle of your choice!  You have to be a member of the Badger Motors group to compete and also be riding or driving a Badger Motors vehicle to set a time.  The rules are available by clicking the "rules" sign.  This is a fun way to burn some time and maybe get a new vehicle!  Let's see your best average lap time!
